About Page

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, and just steps from the historic Ryman Auditorium at 400 Commerce Street, our 11,000-square-foot facility will serve as a vibrant hub for fans, artists, and visitors from around the world to celebrate the rich legacy and ongoing impact of Christian and Gospel music.

Our Story

The vision for the museum was born from the Gospel Music Association (GMA) and the GMA Foundation’s longstanding mission to expose, promote, and celebrate the Gospel through music. Recognizing the need for a dedicated space to honor the genre’s history and future, the GMA initiated plans to create a museum that would serve as both a tribute and an inspiration. The ceremonial construction kick-off took place in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in bringing this vision to life.

Community Support

The museum’s development has garnered widespread support from various sectors. Notably, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell attended the groundbreaking ceremony, underscoring the project’s cultural significance. The event also featured performances by renowned artists Michael W. Smith and Jekalyn Carr, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm and commitment to the museum’s success.

What to Expect

Visitors to the Christian & Gospel Music Museum can look forward to state-of-the-art interactive exhibits that celebrate today’s artists, honor the trailblazers of the past, and inspire future generations. The museum aims to be a beacon of light in Nashville, offering a space where life-changing music and inspirational storytelling converge
